Currently, AFAQ runs a total of seven schools in the areas of Salmiya, Jahra and Farwaniya. These learning centers can be categorized on the types of education they offer. These are:

    •  Regular schools
    • Inclusive schools
    • Conduction education school
    • Conductive rehabilitation

    Regular Schools:
The regular schools run by AFAQ are:

    • Umm Hanni with 1,042 students
    • Al-Qabas with 1,831 students
    • Mashael Al-Jahra with 3,319 students

The medium of instruction in all these schools is Arabic. While Umm Hanni and Al-Qabas schools operate uptill grade seven, the Mashael Al-Jahra school operates uptill grade twelve. These schools are also utilized for catering to borderline cases of disability and thereby prove as an instrument to cater to inclusive education programs.

    Inclusive Schools:

Inclusive education means educating children with disabilities to the maximum extent appropriate along with children without disabilities. The concept advances the belief that separate schooling, special classes, or other removal of children with disabilities from the regular educational environment should occur only when the nature or severity of the disability is such that education in regular classes with the use of supplementary aids and services cannot be satisfactorily achieved.

There are two inclusive education schools run by AFAQ. These are:

    • Umm Hanni Special Needs school with 84 students
    • Al-Qabas Special Needs school with 105 students

The medium of instruction in these schools is Arabic where slow learners, students with mild disabilities, Down’s syndrome and borderline cases are enrolled. Both the inclusion schools operate up till grade seven.
